FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Local not-for-profit, Women’s Integration Network Inc., has arrived home after a fruitful week-long trip to Jamaica earlier in April. While the group visited the Caribbean nation for a wide variety of reasons, they have come home celebrating burgeoning partnerships.

Early in the week, representatives of WIN Inc. met with representatives of Woman Inc., the only crisis centre and shelter in Jamaica, to discuss developing an international platform for women’s empowerment.

Later in the week, the fruitful meetings continued as WIN Inc. met with representatives of the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work and the Institute for Gender and Development Studies at the University of West Indies, Mona Campus to begin dialogues for an international collaboration .

The organization is developing partnerships as they begin to launch an international forum on women’s empowerment, discussing empowering women to overcome their own perceptions of vulnerability.

Enjoying their stay at the Mystic Ridge Resort, WIN Inc. also relished in visits to Strawberry Hill, Jamaica Inn, and Passages to India.

Things have not stopped since arriving home, as the organization continues to plan for meetings with local organizations and for a variety of upcoming fundraisers.
